Carteret County Chamber of Commerce celebrates more than 800 members spread throughout Carteret, Craven, Onslow, Pitt and Wake counties in North Carolina. With the main purpose of promoting existing businesses and bringing others to the area, the chamber acts as a relocation center from the Morehead City office. The large Morehead City Visitor Center takes care of visitors and prospective residents, sending all business inquiries to the chamber office downtown. With a vision of Carteret County becoming the most desirable location for business and leisure in eastern North Carolina, the chamber states its mission as "improving the economic climate of Carteret and affiliated counties." The chamber of commerce sponsors and hosts numerous events to promote networking within and beyond its membership. Meetings encourage local business members to make their services known and discover how they can help one another to meet chamber goals. Each month a Business After Hours is hosted by a member business person, usually attended by from 125 to 200 members and guests interested in making good things happen.
