Since 1971 the Carteret County Economic Development Council, Inc. (EDC) has been promoting the economic vitality of our community.  The Council’s mission is to create jobs, opportunity and investment in Carteret County.  The EDC works with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, North Carolina’s Eastern Region and a wide range of other state, regional and local partners to improve the overall business climate and expand the tax base of Carteret County and its municipalities.  The EDC provides comprehensive information and assistance to retain and expand our existing business, encourage the formation of new business and promote the growth of emerging business in Carteret County.  The EDC also provides “confidential” project information to attract new, compatible business investment to Carteret County.
